What is a healthy amount of calories to lose per session on treadmill?

Hi there. What is a healthy amount of calories to lose per session on a treadmill? I am 28, 96kg and 6 ft 1. I started with 100 calories 4 days ago, and am now up to 800 calories per session in an hour and 15 minutes. My goal weight is 85kgs as soon as possible. So, is it healthy to go over the 800 calories per session in 1.5 hrs? I feel like I can do more.

What would you recommend?

Thank you!

I don’t think you need to burn too much more than 800 on the treadmill. If I was you I’d try mixing it up a little and having a go on a cross trainer (or elliptical trainer) which you will discover burns calories faster than the treadmill and is tougher on the legs. Even try a rowing machine, which works over your whole body. Stick with what you’re doing on the treadmill but branch out and try some different machines.

Of course, this only works if you’re working out in a gym. If you’ve only got a treadmill at home, which you are using, then my only advice is just go for as long as your body can handle it. It really depends on your physical strength and current fitness whether burning more than 800 calories a session is dangerous or not. If you feel you can do more, then do more. Just stay hydrated and remember to rest and stretch.
